Best affordable bed sheets 2025 − crisp percales and silky sateens to upgrade your bedroom on a budget
When you buy the best affordable bed sheets, you don't have to compromise quality for cost − I've ranked six of my favorite sets from Amazon, Target, and more

05/06. I replaced the Bedsure Cooling Sheets with the Hotel Collection Bamboo Rayon Sheet Set, which boasts a higher average customer rating on Amazon.
The best affordable bed sheets should look and feel expensive. You could try to find a cheap set of sheets in the clearance section of a specialist sleep store, but you'll get better value for money shopping with a major home retailer. Brands such as Casaluna at Target and RE/FINE at Wayfair offer luxe linens at reasonable prices.
As the resident Sleep Editor at Homes & Gardens, I've sampled some of the world's best bed sheets, ranging from thousand-dollar sateen sets to cheap and cheerful cotton blends. From Amazon to Target, I know all the best places to buy bedding on a budget. So, to save you time and money, I've reviewed six of the best affordable bed sheets to keep you cool and dry as the weather warms up.
To be clear, I class anything less than $100 for a Queen set as affordable. That's how much you should spend on sheets to get durable designs in timeless styles. Remember, you're paying for a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases, so $100 is actually only $25 per piece.
Best affordable bed sheets 2025 – 6 budget-friendly sets, ranked and reviewed
Before we begin, let's talk materials. Some bed sheet types are cheaper than others and each have their own pros and cons for different sorts of sleepers. Here are a few of my favorites for spring and summer. If you suffer from night sweats or hot flashes, I suggest you consult my guide to the best cooling sheets.
- Cotton percale: crisp and cool, cotton percale is ideal for hot sleepers and anyone who likes the look and feel of a hotel bed. Percale is a simple weave (one-thread-under, one-thread-over), so it tends to be marginally cheaper than sateen.
- Cotton sateen: smooth and silky, cotton sateen feels more luxurious than cotton percale, which explains the slightly higher price tag. Sateen is a tighter weave (one-thread-under, three-threads-over), which forms thicker, heavier sheets with an attractive sheen. On the other hand, that tight weave is known to trap heat, so sateen is less suitable for hot sleepers and summer weather.
- Bamboo: moisture-wicking and antimicrobial, bamboo busts the bacteria that breeds in sticky, sweaty environments, such as beds. It's a great option for anyone who suffers from night sweats or hot flashes, as well as eco-conscious shoppers. If you can't afford pure bamboo, you could shop for bamboo blends, such as bamboo rayon.

- A little thin
These are some of the best-loved bed sheets on Amazon, with more than 240,000 five-star ratings from verified customers. Almost every review mentions the wrinkle-resistance of the sheets, which wash well and dry beautifully to form a low-maintenance bedspread. The Mellanni Queen Sheet Set comes in 45 shades to complement any color palette. There's even a deep-pocket option to accommodate thicker mattresses, though the sheets themselves are a little thin. 'You can practically see through them if you hold them up to the light,' says one recent reviewer, 'but don't let that discourage you: this sheet set is honestly one of the best bargains I've found online.'

These cotton percale sheets are breathable and durable. Our expert tester, Lucy, spun her Martha Stewart 100% Cotton Sheet Set through a few washing machine cycles and confirms that these sheets wash well and dry beautifully for a crease-free finish. 'I check reviews thoroughly before I buy anything from Amazon,' says Lucy. 'Since it's not necessarily a space that's top of my list as one of the best places to buy bedding, I was more thorough than usual'. Ultimately, Lucy was won over by hundreds of five-star ratings, plus the low price. Note that the Martha Stewart 100% Cotton Sheet Set only comes in sizes Twin, Full, Queen, and King. If you're shopping for a Twin XL in a college dorm or a California King in a master bedroom, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Many of the best affordable bed sheets only come in whites and creams, but the Hotel Collection offers a wide range of vibrant shades to complement any color palette, including dusty blue and sage green. The sheets are made from bamboo rayon, a semi-synthetic fabric that combines the natural thermoregulation and moisture-wicking of bamboo with the durability of rayon. Still, if you're an eco-conscious shopper, you might prefer to explore my guide to the best organic bedding.

Casaluna produces luxe-looking sheets at a price that anyone can afford. I love their Supima cotton sheets for their softness and durability. 'Supima cotton withstands wear and tear exceptionally well, so that your sheets stay soft and vibrant for years to come,' says Andrew Buchan (Strictly Beds and Bunks). This Casaluna percale set comes in a range of colors to complement any bedroom color palette, from dark gray to bright white to splashes of rose and teal. Casaluna uses clean dyes that are tested and verified free from harmful substances, so that you can breathe cleaner air while you sleep, too.

- Prone to wrinkling
RE/FINE stocks all sorts of cotton and linen sheets: I like the look of the Danfield Cotton Sateen Sheet Set. These silky-smooth sheets come in sizes Twin through King, for no more than $100 a set. Each fitted sheet, flat sheet, and pillowcase comes in a range of cute pastels. 'I love the silky texture of these sheets,' says one recent reviewer. 'They come out of the dryer a little more wrinkled than I would like, but if I put them on the bed warm from the dryer, the wrinkles smooth out.'

Material: Microfiber

+ Seriously cheap
+ Wide colorway
- Prone to pilling
I couldn't make a list of the best affordable bed sheets and not include the Amazon Basics Sheet Set. I've never seen sheets selling this cheap. Right now, you can pick up a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases in any conceivable color for less than $20. 'For the price, you really can't beat the quality,' reasons a recent reviewer. 'These sheets are lightweight, breathable, and keep me cool throughout the night. I also appreciate how they're easy to wash and quick to dry with no wrinkling.' It's worth noting that each piece is made from polyester microfiber, which traps heat and pills easily. The Amazon Basics Sheet Set won't top our best bed sheets buying guide any time soon, but it's a decent option for buyers on a budget.
How we test bed sheets
I lead a team of product testers in the search to find the world's best bed sheets. We spend a minimum of 30 nights sleeping on each sheet set before we write our reviews to get an accurate indication of long-term performance. For the sake of a fair fight, we assess each sheet set against the same criteria: look and feel; thermoregulation; and durability.
We also consider the practicalities of shopping for sheets, from the range of colors and sizes available to the details of delivery. Where possible, we like to compare our results against verified reviews to pick out common customer concerns. We consider the performance of the sheet set against the price to help you determine value for money. To learn more about how we test bed sheets, consult our expert guide.
FAQs
Where can I buy affordable bed sheets?
Some of the best places to buy affordable bedding are local home retailers. For example, Wayfair recently launched RE/FINE, a bath and bedding brand for elevated essentials, while Target runs an affordable bedding line called Casaluna.
If you're smart about it, you could pick up a set of the best affordable bed sheets from a specialist sleep store. When you shop the bedding sales, you could save an average of 10-25% on luxury sheet sets from Brooklinen, Boll & Branch, Piglet in Bed, and more.
How should I choose the best affordable bed sheets?
As H&G's specialist sleep writer, I'm often asked how to choose bed sheets to meet your sleep needs and budget constraints. Here are my top tips to keep in mind.
- Set your budget and stick to it: I suggest you set an upper and a lower limit to your budget before you start shopping. The bare minimum I'd expect to spend on a Queen sheet set at full price is $50. Much cheaper, and you're probably looking at polyester, which is widely regarded as the worst bed sheet material. It traps heat and pills easily: plus, it's terrible for the environment.
- Carefully select your materials and colors: I spoke earlier about the pros and cons of various bed sheet types, but as a reminder, which bedding material is best for you depends on whether you run hot or cold and whether you prefer a matte or silky finish. You might also like to consider the best bed sheet colors to improve sleep, including classic whites and neutrals, plus light greens and blues.
- Read a range of customer reviews: if you're buying cheap sheets online, be sure to read the customer reviews. Don't be taken in by the first few five-star reviews, but equally, don't be put off by the odd low rating. You need to read a real range of reviews to get an accurate indication of what it might be like to sleep on these sheets.
Once you've upgraded your bedding, it's time to turn your attention to your mattress. If you're working with a tight budget, I suggest you narrow the search to the best affordable mattress. I've ranked and reviewed six of my favorites, including Nectar, DreamCloud, and more.
